Sanzu River

Il Sanzu River (三途の川, Sanzu no Kawa; Riva dei tre passaggi) è un fiume circondato dalla nebbia che le anime dei morti devono attraversare per giungere all'Higan, dove saranno in attesa del giudizio. Parte della riva è accessibile da Gensokyo inoltre solo i morti possono attraversare il fiume sulla barca di uno shinigami.

Komachi Onozuka, la shinigami in Touhou, ha il potere di manipolare le distanze per allargarle a seconda delle pene delle anime.
